TEAKETTLE MOUNTAIN PRESERVATION ASSOCIATION UPDATE

Hello! Here is a brief follow-up/overview from our TMPA meeting on January 30th, if you were unable to attend. Thank you for your concern and for the donations already received!

The agenda was as follows:

  • Welcome: Program Outline, Introductions - Dan Diamond

  • Background: TMPA was formed in response to Starry Nights campground and its first live music, cookout and drug event in 2023 - Dan Diamond

  • Video of Glass View: Shows a 60-unit glass yurt campground development high on
    Teakettle Mountain

  • Fire Danger and Response Difficulties: (a 1-mile radius around Glass View includes Martin City, Coram, and most of Teakettle Mountain) - Terry Weigand, Fire Chief.

  • Glass View Site: Business plan development includes a café, laundry, pavilion with hot tubs in each yurt. Traffic associated projections also included - Steve Haas

  • Wrap Up and Fundraising: Legal approach to preventing commercial exploration - Chuck
    Beckman

  • Q&A: All

Currently, additional fundraising is critical to the success of this effort, and we are still almost $25,000 short of our goal of $100,000. We will need that amount to be funded all the way through a lawsuit and potential appeal.

Several of you have asked for donation information regarding how to stop commercial development in our residential mountain neighborhood:
Mail a check to: TMPA, PO Box 1839, Columbia Falls, MT, 59912, or
Hand a check to any of the Board Members, or
Deposit your check into the TMPA account, (#21016159), at Freedom Bank in Columbia Falls, or
Wire funds to TMPA account at Freedom Bank: Routing #092905456 and Account #21016159
The Federal EIN# for TMPA is 93-255-6792 for a charitable tax deduction!

If you care about our forest, our neighborhood and the future of your home and property and its unburned value, please donate now! It will take time for our attorneys to fine tune our case but once started, we must have the funds to complete the job! If we do not all work together and act now to fund this effort, it will NOT be possible in the future.

Thank you!
